Project Wingman was founded in March 2020 in direct response to the extreme pressure on frontline health professionals during the pandemic. Volunteers from across the Airline industry set up dedicated lounges in NHS hospitals, providing vital well-being support to some 600,000 NHS staff.
Post pandemic the NHS workforce has chronic well-being needs. With NHS space no longer available, we developed mobile lounges in specially converted buses and in partnership with trusts and boards we have visited sites across the country, promoting the importance of well-being. These lounges have received over 40,000, with strong feedback appreciating the 'care for the carers'.
