NHS Charities Together is a membership organisation that supports NHS charities to reach their individual goals, to grow and learn together and deliver benefits for patients, communities, and workforce.
People have been donating money to health services since well before the NHS was created. Our members are based in hospitals, ambulance trusts, mental health trusts, community health trusts and health boards across the UK.
From supporting research and development, to brightening up hospital environments, to donating state-of-the-art technologies and equipment, NHS charities raise funds and mobilise volunteers, touching lives and making a huge difference to millions of people when they are at their most vulnerable.
Over the next five years we will work together with members to enhance the impact of our network with a focus on three areas of change outlined in our strategy.
Transforming patient experience and outcomes
NHS charities have a long history of supporting innovation and can take a more holistic approach, considering the mental and emotional wellbeing of patients and their families, as well as their physical health outcomes.
Supporting workforce wellbeing
NHS charities are well-placed to understand the particular difficulties faced by NHS staff, to share intelligence to produce a picture of the challenges facing care-givers, and to know what interventions are most likely to work.
Supporting people and communities to live well
Uniquely placed between the NHS and charity sectors, NHS charities can play a critical role in pioneering, evaluating and evidencing approaches that help people to live well.
